WHERE IS SOUNDSLICE?
At present the site hosts only the demonstration example of Stairway to Heaven above. In order to use it for all the songs in the catalogue I would need to have a certain number of people signed up to a yearly fee with full access to make it financially viable.
Please let me know on the contact page if this of interest to you. Once I do launch Soundslice on the site, for this support, you would receive a 50% discount on the first year's subscription

WHAT IS SOUNDSLICE?
Soundslice is a hybrid audio player / notation viewer that syncs notation with real audio. This allows you to read the notation while at the same time watch and listen to how it’s being played.
Learning music effectively often requires having to juggle lots of different tools and aids to learning, whether it be sheet music, YouTube videos, slowdown/looping apps, notation/tab editing software. Soundslice is a platform which seamlessly brings all those elements together without having to download anything!
Here is an overview of the basic features available on the Soundslice platform
Instrument appearance
You can customize how much information you'd like to see on each track. For example, for the ukelele you might want to see the tablature, notation and fingering, whereas for the vocal just the notation and the lyrics. You can do so by clicking on the settings cog and choosing the features you would like under instrument appearance.
Resizing notation
If working with a small screen size, it might be useful to enlarge the notation. Just click on the settings cog icon and use the zoom level scroll bar to adjust the size.
Resizing video & Full screen
If you need a bit more space to play around with you can make the player full screen. You can also alter the size ratio between the video and notation by dragging the bar dividing the video and the notation.
Metronome
Click this and you'll hear the metronome pulse as you play. You can also set it to count you in!
Synthetic playback
Sometimes it's useful to listen to the synthetic computer generated version of the recording. In this way, when you slow the recording down there is no audio degradation. This makes it not only accurate metronomically but also easier on the ear at very slow speeds! You can also change the synthetic instrument in the mixer.
Animated fretboard
Using this tool enables you to see where the notes are placed on the fretboard as well being handy for learning the names of the notes themselves.
Printing
You can print the notation/tablature in whatever variation and with how many tracks you want. For example, with both notation and tab as well as with ukelele, vocal and harmonica or any combination of which.
Switching recordings
Switch between different recordings of the music. For example, with a version of the song with the ukelele isolated or one with ukelele and vocal. This can be done seamlessly on the fly so you don't lose your position.
Looping
You can loop sections of the recording by dragging across the notes. This is great for concentrating on tricky sections of a recording.
Playback speed
You can slow down the playback speed without changing the pitch of the recording. You can increase the speed as well if you fancy the challenge! Video recordings are in percentage and synthetic recordings are in BPM (Beats Per MInute).
Playback
To start and stop the recording, click on either play/pause buttons on the video or the control bar. To quickly go to a particular bar, drag the progress bar or click on a note in the notation to go to an exact moment. * Video not playing if you press the Soundslice play button? Press the YouTube play button the very first time after you load the page, and the Soundslice play button will work from that point forward.
